10/17/05: Our chapter has had a great start this year. We've hosted an ice cream social, promoted a CMU materials guest speaker event, and helped out at the MS&T '05 Mini-Materials camp. We also had our first general body meeting of the year on Oct. 6th.

Upcoming events include the ASM Pittsburgh Meeting on Oct. 20th and SWE High School Day on Oct. 21.

The ASM Pittsburgh Meeting is featuring a lecture by our department's very own Professor Henry Piehler. Come out for a dinner and listen to Professor Piehler talk about The Evolution (or Intelligent Design) of Biomaterials. More info can be found here.

On SWE High School Day, high schoolers come to CMU and go around to each CIT department to find out more about engineering. MSE has a couple of demos for the high schoolers to play with and we need students to help out with these sessions.
